Hello, welcome to the new Pritchards Bookshop website!

Pritchards has proudly served the community of Crosby (Liverpool) and surrounding areas since 1975. We are a fiercely independent bookseller, passionate about igniting a love of reading in young people whilst also continuing to provide help and friendly advice to readers of all ages. We love supporting authors and having them in to meet readers and sign books in our shop!

We firmly believe in trading responsibly and ethically - paying fair wages to our staff, paying our taxes as a business and supporting our local community.

New partner Amy, supported by her husband Chris, came on board in 2021 to help the business continue to thrive and grow!

Why did we decide to launch an eCommerce website?

We do NOT want to be the next Amazon! But, we decided that we needed to offer our customers an enhanced service including the ability to order online for a few reasons:

- We have over 10,000 titles in stock normally, but knowing what we stock we actually had was previously only possible if you came in to store, called or emailed; Now our in-stock products are all online, you can see what we have from wherever you are!

- After Covid-19 hit, we felt it was important that we could allow customers to shop with us in a Covid-safe way if they wanted to. So now in addition to coming into our Crosby store, we are glad we can also offer alternatives:

1) In-store Pickup - no fee or handling charges apply. Order online for pickup in store. Pay in advance and know the title is there ready to pick up in our shop,

2) Home delivery - Standard charge is £2.80 via Royal Mail/Carrier - so we can mail out orders to customers either locally or further afield.

3) Local Delivery - We will not charge for this service, but a minimum order value of £15 applies. If you are vulnerable, unable to get out and about or simply worried about coming out to shop physically/limiting your contact with people and want to order, please contact us to let us know before you place your order. We may be able to hand-deliver your order in the local area around L23/L22.

If you don't see what you want online just get in touch - we can usually get you most titles within 48 hours or less...
